Pursuing the higher education can lead to many open doors for your personal, professional, and financial growth. If you are like many other high school graduates who see college and university as a sure pathway toward earning a handsome salary and get the things you want in life, you may want to start learning how to write academic essays in the shortest time span possible. Writing an academic essay will be an inevitable part of your college and university life –so are other academic assignments like term paper, research paper, and book reports.
Hence, it is entirely up to you on how you want to manage your time and life during your college/ university years. If you are like many other students who don’t want to spend more than a week sleeping only three to four hours a day, you may want to start learning the tips and tricks of completing impeccable academic essay writing assignments in one hour or less. Here are several tips and tricks on how you can spend an hour or less on essay writing assignment.
1. When your professor asks you to write an essay, write down the instructions on your smartphone, piece of paper (be sure to take snapshot of it and save it on your smart phone/ other portable gadget), or computer. The goal is to remind you of the instructions, deadline, and essay format whenever you have the time to think about it.
2. Think about a theme when you spend your time in the bus or in the train. Generally, a general theme will work well. Find a theme that may attract more people to read your writing. For example, a missing cat of yours may not attract as many attentions as an essay about a recent change in the taxation law. Of course, you will need to adjust the theme according to the class that you are taking –unless the class is about creative writing or academic writing. The time you spend on pondering about a theme/ topic is not included in the one-hour time quota that you’ve allotted in this essay writing exercise.
3. Research about your topic and gather information surrounding the topic. Generally, a 500-word essay will require you to gather fewer articles/ newspaper clippings than 800-word or 1000-word article. Assuming you only get a 500-word essay assignment, you should spend less than 30 minutes to do your research. Use online sources to speed up the process.
4. Write an outline and start filling out the body of the essay with the information you get. Generally, you can consider using the five paragraphs rule. Use one paragraph for introduction, three for the body of the essay, and one for the conclusion. Fill out the first three according to your outline, do the conclusion, and go back to write the introduction. It should take you less than 35 minutes to write.
Plan your essay whenever you have time to think about it, and do the writing only when you have gathered enough information and know about the topic pretty well. This way, you will spend less time writing (that you would spend on staring blankly in front of your computer screen anyway) and complete the essay in an hour or less.
