There are many people who may be under the impression that any leadership position doesn’t take a lot of work. They may think that a managerial position can be filled by anyone. This simply is not true. In order for anyone to manage a company or be any type of team leader, they must experience the job first hand. They also need to know exactly how things work and what measures to take to make sure everything runs smoothly. This type of leadership isn’t just for anyone.
I work very hard at my job, and becoming a manager is very important to me. The position of manager is a great responsibility and requires both skills and the patience to be supervisor over others. It is essential to not treat employees as if you are above them, team work is very important to keep things running smoothly and to keep up employee morale, as well. A good manager makes sure that their team is heard, and will solve any issues that may come up.
It is important to me, to be a good manager. A good team is a sign of a good manager, and that is exactly is what I aspire to be. In order for me to fulfill the position of a supervisor, it will require me to further my education. I have always wanted the opportunity to go back to school, so I jumped at the chance.
Fortunately for me, the company that I work for believes in hiring within the company. They would much rather hire someone that is already employed by them, than to go through the whole hiring process, especially when it comes to more critical positions like leadership and managerial ones.
I received my masters degree in organizational leadership and development and am currently managing a team of 100 employees. Hard work and a good education really do pay off.
